iMovie may seem like barebones, amateur video-editing software. But it actually has features you’d find in more sophisticated, professional video-editing applications. One of those features is the Precision Editor. As the name suggests, the Precision Editor helps you make more precise edits. But it also allows you to use more professional-level editing techniques in your videos.

In this video, I show you a few of those pro-level editing techniques using iMovie’s Precision Editor.

iMovie Advanced Editing

Using the Precision Editor in iMovie, I show you how to make advanced edits that will help your videos flow more smoothly, and feel seamless, including:

  • continuity cuts
  • splits edits
  • J cuts
  • L cuts
